Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

time to begin

alright then,

this week I'm going to start working on this monstrous project...i'll keep adding to the list as i go along, although i already had a horrific time trying to choose which went first...for now, i'll leave it as a surprise...

other than that, i'm keeping pace with comics and commissions, with some other odd pictures to be thrown in...now that it's summer, i'd love to do some more cg work...but alas, i only have photoshop elements at the moment...though interesting things may come out of that, so i may still try it out...
eventually, my plan was to colour all the drawings from the monstrous project on the computer, since my tablet is horrifically disused as my old computer would crash whenever i hooked it up...so i'm looking forward to figuring out how to really use it on this new one...

i'm also still looking into art schools, but am a bit more worried about building up my portfolio as last year's art class was a complete waste in that sense...so i'm trying to do a bit more observational studies and such...so i'm wondering, what other sort of works do you think make a nice addition to make a good strong portfolio?

figure drawings. Not even joking. during my protfolio review I was told that one thing the admissions people will look for is a variety in a portfolio. Anybody and eveyrbody can draw in an anime or anime-influenced style but showing that you also understand realism and actual human anatomy really helps your case as well. not that your work isn't great or anything, btut hat's jsut what he said <3

I haven't seen your full portfolio, but judging from your posts here, I'd be giddy to have half of what you've done.

Seriously though, if you know the list of schools you're interested in, write to them directly and ask what they would like to see in a prospective student portfolio. If they don't provide a straight answer, try google advanced search option and look on devArt for members who attend your list of schools and ask them.
