The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

For those of you who might be interested in my lame school assignments and some random sketches and work-in-progress shots, i've been posting a few up on my blog over at [link]
I'm considering gradually moving away from dA, I'm not sure...maybe it's time for a change...but for now, if I ever manage to finish anything that's half decent, I'll post it up here, otherwise you can see what I'm working on over at my blog, and I'm going to be trying quite hard to post somewhat regularly...

Also, I'm discontinuing my shoe commissions for now, just because they take too much time and money to make...there may be more in the future, but for now I'm going to stick with sketches and such...so I'm sorry to those who commissioned them, but I just can't see myself finding the time for them anytime soon...

otherwise, as soon as school's done, there may or may not be more commissions opening up...I need to see how my schedule looks, and finish my other ones first of course since those folks have been so wonderfully patient but I know I'll be looking for money in hopes of getting down to San Francisco...so we'll see how it goes...but keep an eye out if you're interested...

hope your school stuff is going well.
so far, i've gotten into Pratt, school of visual arts, and Parsons, i got waitlisted from RISD. :/
it sucks but whatever, i'm just waiting for all of my financial packages to come in the mail.
once you're freed up, i might get something commissioned from you. :3

i got a lot of money from Pratt, so right now i've been keeping my eye on Pratt, but i would really like to go to Parsons if they give me enough money. my parents are really weird about my moving out though, so that's why i'm really relying on RISD now so that i won't have the option of commuting because that would suck..

hey, its been a while.
how's everything been for you?
i'm going to Parsons now haha i've been here for about a week, and my roommate is actually from Canada too. vancouver i think. it's been interesting here, the work load is intense but it's enjoyable.

it has! everything's alright on my end, I'm taking some time off school to re-assess my options and see where I can afford to go, build up my portfolio, maybe try some freelancing, who knows...
that's cool that you're going to Parsons, I've heard good things about it, and very cool that you have a roommate all the way from this corner of the world. I grew up in Vancouver, it's one of my favourite places. And yeah, the art school workload is nothing to be trifled with, but is generally so worthwhile. I know it's definitely helped my speed and work ethic.
