Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I've finally finished moving, or the main part of it at least. All settled in, furniture bought, walls painted etc. However, in the aftermath of this, I'm ridiculously low on money and probably won't be able to get a job till September when jobs open up, which is also when I start school and become so busy that money will be even more important.

So I'm opening up my commissions to 10 slots! I'm mainly looking for tattoo commissions and single character commissions, but if you have any other ideas please don't hesitate to send me a note as I'm desperately open to anything.

I also have a few extra artist trading cards outside of the set of 20 I'm doing, so if anyone wants a commission on one of those (just pencil or ink) I'd be willing to do it for a lot cheaper than my regular rate ($20, give or take?)

Anyways, if you're interested in commissioning me, send me a note with the general idea of what you want, I'll send you an estimate of how much I think it will be, and onwards we'll go! I have to take payment up front due to some problems in the past but I will make sure that I do the best I can on your piece, and if for whatever reason I can't complete it you'll definitely get your money back. I really appreciate any and all the support you guys give me and will try my very best to make it worthwhile for you!

Also, please feel free to haggle with me on prices, but know that I put a lot of time and effort into my art, obsessively so, so please try to haggle reasonably!

In the meantime, more tiny cards are still being worked on, and prints will be available as soon as they get here with the rest of my stuff.

We really could have! Yours were surely more adventurous though, I just spent three days on a Greyhound bus. But a lot of city exploring at least. How were your travels?

That CD is still at my home, I can probably get it to you sometime if I'm ever back in Edmonton again. Let me know if you're ever in Toronto, if you're traveling again and need a place to stay or just to hang out.
