Sheridan or OCAD?

Wed Jan 6, 2010, 2:24 PM
Seems like it's been awhile again, always falling behind. But right now I'm in the midst of a pretty chaotic period of productivity in an attempt to get everything pulled together for my portfolio! Which is quite exciting and also rather terrifying.

But all that aside, after giving up hopes of American schooling due to overwhelming cost issues, I'm applying for two schools to the East, the Ontario College of Art and Design as well as the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, trying to continue the pursuit of a degree in Illustration. I'm still not sure if I'll even get into either, but I've been trying to decide which to choose between the two if it came down to that, and I was wondering if there are any students or knowledgable folk out there who might offer their opinion or some helpful advice? I'm kind of leaning more towards Sheridan just because their Illustration program seems to be very well-reputed, but I'd still love to hear your thoughts!
Any portfolio advice for either of those schools would also be more than welcome!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ANOTHER CRAZY EPIC ART SALE!

The Art Walk was a better success than I ever could have imagined, I'm still floored by the response and interest so many people had in my work, so thanks to everyone who managed to drop by! However, as always, I'm still looking for money for school, and since I still have some leftovers, I thought I might as well offer them here if anyone is interested!

ART WALK!!!

Sat Jul 4, 2009, 1:25 PM
Oh man, it's been ages, hopefully you haven't all given up on me...but I have a bunch of things in the works which should be pulling together soon, and I'm pretty excited...probably more than I should be, but again, it's been awhile...

In other news, the Edmonton Art Walk is happening again, next weekend July 10th to the 12th, and once again I'll be there selling my stuff and generally being nervous...my spot is right in front of Sabzy, across the street from the Army and Navy, so pretty central and hopefully easy to find...with any luck I'll have some newer stuff, and I really want to start clearing out some of my older prints, so some things will be pretty cheap, and if there's stuff leftover I'll probably have another print sale on here as well...
but anyways, if you're in the area, drop by! There's lots of great stuff happening, and great art around...

Other than that, as soon as this is all over and I clear through my standing commissions, I'll probably open some more slots, so I'll keep you all posted!

more art?

Tue Apr 7, 2009, 11:08 AM
For those of you who might be interested in my lame school assignments and some random sketches and work-in-progress shots, i've been posting a few up on my blog over at [link]
I'm considering gradually moving away from dA, I'm not sure...maybe it's time for a change...but for now, if I ever manage to finish anything that's half decent, I'll post it up here, otherwise you can see what I'm working on over at my blog, and I'm going to be trying quite hard to post somewhat regularly...

Also, I'm discontinuing my shoe commissions for now, just because they take too much time and money to make...there may be more in the future, but for now I'm going to stick with sketches and such...so I'm sorry to those who commissioned them, but I just can't see myself finding the time for them anytime soon...

otherwise, as soon as school's done, there may or may not be more commissions opening up...I need to see how my schedule looks, and finish my other ones first of course since those folks have been so wonderfully patient but I know I'll be looking for money in hopes of getting down to San Francisco...so we'll see how it goes...but keep an eye out if you're interested...

till next time!
