omg...

IT'S DONE!!!!!!

there will be about three people who see this and realize just how long this took me, since they saw it from the very beginning, starting almost two years ago...
originally, it was for a tribute to andre breton, a sketchbook assignment in grade 11 where you had to draw whatever you saw in these 100-dot squares on first impulse...of course i took it too far, and you can still see some of the dots lying around...

the full picture covers 6 pages in my sketchbook, and required numerous rather difficult techniques to break the page breaks
(if you look closely you may be able to still spot the breaks, but thanks to the exceedingly awesome help of :iconradioblur:, who insisted on piecing this monster together, it looks spectacularly cohesive!!! thanks so much again mitch!)
but yeah, basically while working on the mid section, i could not see the head, and while working on the tail i could not see the midsection, which led to much anxiety on my part since i had no clue if it would work when laid out together...it's still in book form in my sketchbook, but this looks so much more impressive in a way...

leviathan may not be the proper name for this beast, but it does look very much like an aquatic entity taken to the air, so it seemed most fitting...i had a huge long backstory which has been forgotten over the long progression of the image, so all i can remember is that it eats stars, which then filter out of it's ribcage as it drifts along...

please take the time to look at it closely through all the details, as i put altogether too much work into this...

"star-eating leviathan by ~theumbrella is an amazing piece of art which combines genuine creativity with amazing skill grasped by two years of patient effort. The beauty of the lines creates a complicated net of endless details and symbols, something to stare at for hours. This is the beast hidden in each and every artists' cupboard that we should aim to unleash."

wow really amazing work. In the full view is so impressive. I really like how you added the little man swinging from the horns and how the first few spines look like buildings. So much detail it must've taken you forever.
