ack, i haven't updated in forever...been so busy...
I've got a ton of stuff in progress, just nothing done, so hopefully something will get finished soon...
until then, you get this little skecth i threw together today...I was fooling around with a paint stain on my desk and seeing what would happen when i got it wet and pressed paper on it to make some sort of print...and decided to draw on some of them...so here's one...
nothing all that spectacular, but i'm kind of fond of it...
twill be scrapped as soon as i can manage to finish something...

gouache, watercolour, pencil

oh, see if you can find the owl and the odd rat/dog...they're in there, really...

Not bad, but the top right corner seems a bit unconsidered...actually cut it in half, no the far right third. It also lacks in values, maybe go though with some black watercolor or charcoal lightly to add in some grays.

BTW I just saw a castle with a modern road leading up its battlements right under the head of the owl. Its in the part that makes up his body.

I'm wondering how important are the figures you had talked about in the splatters. I didn't see these at all at first glance I had to go back and look a couple times. But perhaps you do want your viewer to look at it a few times. If the subjects you have mentioned are important that they need to bee seen automatically at first sight. I suggest adding some dark values and a few highlights. Also consider the background your splatters are on, maybe it would look differently on a black background? Or even a complementary color background? I really enjoy this piece though and hope you make more! Nice job!
