A mock op-ed illustration for my Illustration class. The article was about bullying, and how even though schools are investing in anti-bullying kits and guides, the only way to solve the problem is to teach kids to take care of each other. I'd like to go back and touch this up a bit once the semester is over, some of the shading isn't quite where I want it to be, but this will do till then.
Graphite and scratchboard combined in Photoshop with a few touch-ups
If you want to keep track of my school stuff I'm updating my sketch tumblr as often as possible with progress work from my assignments.

EDIT: [link] Here's the article we were given for this assignment, just in case some people are more interested in the idea. All your comments have floored me, it's amazing to get this kind of response to a piece, so thanks so much everyone! Even if I don't have time to respond to them all I really appreciate it.
EDIT: Sorry for the repost, but I went back into this piece and fixed the shading in a few areas, added a few details and fixed that other hand.
This deserves a whole lot more faves and comments and shares - and respect. It's not only heartbreaking but probably the truest interpretation (or representation?) of life itself. Amazing work!
